C-Quarters Kingfish Shootout
And MBARA Tourney Set
Two of the year’s more significant Forgotten Coast saltwater fishing tournaments will be held in August. First up is the C-Quarters Marina 9th Annual Kingfish Shootout August 4 & 5 while August 25th marks the date of the annual Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association (MBARA) tournament.
Proceeds from the C-Quarters event will go to the Leukemia Research Foundation. Thus far this Jimmy Crowder sponsored tourney has raised more than $650,000 for the cause. Proceeds from the MBARA events help fund the building of artificial reefs off the Forgotten Coast coastline.
The 9th Annual Kingfish Shootout to be held on August 4th & 5th with the Captain's Meeting at C-Quarters Marina the night of August 3rd. This year, the Shootout will be for kingfish only.
The guaranteed payout will be $16,500 with 10 places. You can win $5,000 for the biggest kingfish. The boat registration fee has been reduced to $250 per boat.
The shootout sponsors note, “With continuing thoughts of Lisa Crowder Jackson we are excited about the potential positive impact this event is going to have not only for the charity, the Leukemia Research Foundation, but the City of Carrabelle and Franklin County as a whole.
“Thank you to all our previous sponsors and fishermen. We hope to see you the first weekend in August with the catch of a lifetime, winning the $5,000.”
