Mexico Beach Offshore Classic

Is Scheduled for July 27 & 28

 

The 8th Annual Offshore Classic will once again draw a whole host of serious and fun-loving anglers to the shores of Mexico Beach in eastern Bay County on July 27 &28. Hosted by Mexico Beach Marina the two-day event will offer thousands in prizes to the top fishermen.

Target fish for the event are Wahoo, Dolphin and King Mackerel and three places will be paid for each species. Top fish in each earns a serious $1,500 while second pays $500 and third is worth $250. The entry fee (after July 1) is $250. To the overall “Grand Prize” winner goes a check for $2,500.

The Captains’ Meeting is scheduled for 5 pm (central time) July 26 at Toucans on Highway 98 in Mexico beach. Then at 5 am the next morning the fishing begins. Weigh in on the 27th is 4 to 5 pm at Mexico Beach Marina on Highway 98.

On the following and final day the final weigh in will again be 4-5 pm (central time). The next hour is reserved for tabulating and then at 6 pm the Awards Ceremony takes place at the marina. For more details on the event call 850-648-8900.
